Eating our way through Europe Day 4

Day 4

This will probably be our last day in Wurzburg. I say probably because we really don't have the last week of our trip planned. This gives me great anxiety. I like plans. However, lack of plans stretches me in ways that I normally would not stretch myself. I guess I have Tony to thank for that.

I started this blog talking about eating but really it's not the main part of my trip. I say my trip because for me it was all about seeing Mathew perform the witch in Hansel and Gretel. He certainly did not disappoint. Even though I didn't really understand any of the words, I got to see him and that was and I'm sure will be the highlight.

When I travel I find that people really all want the same thing. Some people are super nice. Like the folks we met at the theater who offered us a place to stay. And some we are just not able to communicate with. We are in Germany and I can't speak German.

Rather than ramble on today, I'm just going to share a few pictures. Sunday is a day of rest here. Most retail stores are closed. Only cafe's and restaurants are open.

It's the morning of Day 5 and I honestly just miss being home.

As you can see we started and ended with food. In the morning we ate at The California Breakfast Club. It is a weekend popup breakfast restaurant. It is probably the only place in Wurzburg that offers a never ending cup of coffee. It's French press. I had a Mexican Fritatta and Tony and Matt had the Eggs Benedict. For the evening, Tony and I were on our own and ended up eating across from the theater. Tony had duck and I had a chicken. I definitely enjoy eating, however, my mind was on seeing Matt perform.

    A Tribute to My Dad

He used to say things like, 'If you're going to ask for one dollar, you might as well ask for five,' and in his infinite wisdom, he said, 'Keep your pants up and your skirt down,' and lastly, always 'pay yourself first.' I only listened to the first one--I was always bold in asking him for money. And he almost always gave it to me.
