Another amazing breakfast buffet at the hotel and then we're off to Verona. I checked out this article about Verona for the top things to do--https://www.thecrazytourist.com/15-best-things-verona-italy/. We hit them all. We parked at the train station near our hotel and took the train and then a bus into the city. The first thing I saw was the arena. They were preparing for an opera festival. Aida was playing that evening so they had all these large props in close proximity.

A few interesting things I noticed about Verona. It definitely runs on tourism as everything has a cost. We love to go into churches, however, the "church tour" had a fee so we just enjoyed the outside views. We had a map of the town and yet it was challenging for us to know where we were at any given time. That's probably why we walked so much. We did ride a funicular! It was definitely a first for me.

The architecture was amazing and I know I must have taken almost seventy pictures. I'm only to going to show you a few so you get the idea. And if I took a picture of the food, I'll show you that too. So let's just go with it.

Gnocchi

We ate at Mamma Mia's. That's a typical name for an Italian Restaurant. I had the Gnocchi Bolognese and Tony had Sesame Ahi Tuna. I know I took a picture of his plate but it's now no where to be found. It seems I'm missing lots of pictures actually.

All in all it was a great day and I really liked Verona. It was hot. Very hot. Lots of people. Lots of shops. Lots of activity all over. At Casa di Giulietta there was actually a gum and/or bandaid wall. For a moment I thought I was in Seattle.

Tomorrow we are going into Venice.

    A Tribute to My Dad

He used to say things like, 'If you're going to ask for one dollar, you might as well ask for five,' and in his infinite wisdom, he said, 'Keep your pants up and your skirt down,' and lastly, always 'pay yourself first.' I only listened to the first one--I was always bold in asking him for money. And he almost always gave it to me.
